Dean Kutz was a veteran jockey who began racing at the age of 16. He was the winner of 2000 races and in addition to other awards, his fellow jockeys voted to give him the 2001 George Woolf Memorial Award. Dean was born with one kidney and later in life his lone kidney failed and his sister donated another. He assisted the National Kidney Foundation and other organizations throughout his life. In 1999 he was diagnosed with throat cancer and died in Lexington, KY on Sunday, September 26, 2004, He was 48 years old.

Join us for our second annual 5K Walk/Run through the streets of our beautiful city beginning and ending at 4th Street Live!! This is a USATF certified race course; online and on-sight registration will be available.
